Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Misérables) will headline the Saturday, January 28th at 7pm performance of Jacques Brel RETURNS...The Music of Brel, Blau, Shuman and Jouannest at The Triad. Joining Cuccioli will be Tamra Hayden (Les Misérables on Broadway), Arlo Hill (Where's Charley? at Encores! directed by John Doyle), Rick Hip-Flores (who has performed in the pits of Billy Elliot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and Ereni Sevasti (The Bacchae at The Public, Carnival at The Kennedy Center).
There will also be a special, private performance of Jacques Brel RETURNS on Thursday, January 26th at 7pm at The Triad presented exclusively for The Belgian American Chamber of Commerce and the Belgian Consulate General in NY; Ambassador Herman Portocarero, Consul General of Belgium in NY will be in attendance alongside Belgian and French diplomats, bankers and business leaders from both the city and Europe, all gathering to celebrate the New Year as well as one of Belgium's most beloved figures, songwriter Jacques Brel. This performance will star Robert Cuccioli, Tamra Hayden, Arlo Hill, Ereni Sevasti and David Wolfson.
The production, which has been playing at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) for over a year and performs a few times each month, is an intimate and engaging evening of classic Jacques Brel songs and features a rotating cast of Broadway performers as well as occasional surprise guest performers.
Jacques Brel RETURNS is presented by Dan Whitten, Mark Beigelman, Peter Martin and Tiger Theatricals. Originally created by Dan Whitten (who also produced the hit revival and CD of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris in 2006/2007) and Mark Beigelman, the show features Jacques Brel favorites including "Carousel," "My Childhood," "If We Only Have Love," "Ne Mes Quitte Pas," "The Bulls," "Amsterdam" and "I Loved."
"Brel's music is timeless and we are thrilled to get to keep it alive at The Triad" says producer Dan Whitten. "We will also be touring the show starting in the spring with Cleveland, where Brel saved The Playhouse Square Theatre back in the early 70's."
Jacques Brel RETURNS plays at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) each month, with the January 28th performance at 7pm.
