Sage Snakechalmer's "Private Dancer," a unique theatrical experience combining theatre, dance and film, boldly explores the personal struggles of Rita Hayworth. The show receives its world premiere at The Lion Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street, beginning Sunday December 1. Written by and starring Snakechalmer, "Private Dancer" is directed by Bob Degus -- the producer of two Academy Award-nominated short films -- who also directs the show's component filmed elements.
The show's opening is set for Thursday December 5 at 8pm. It plays through Saturday December 21.
For this highly idiosyncratic combined-media stage play Snakechalmer and Degus are working with the choreographer
Francesca Harper, sound designer Lisa K. Fowle, production designer Abigail Benavides, and lighting designer Joshua Rose. Music is by Brian Ralston whose original score was recorded by the legendary Hollywood Studio Symphony.

Proceeds from this production are being donated to the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter.
