When it was hip to be hep I was hep but since it's no longer hip to be hep I sometimes get confused by today's pop stars. Every time I see Lady Gaga I keep thinking Leigh Bowery has lost a lot of weight and for the longest time I thought Beyoncé was the name of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's last musical before it was changed to Road Show.

Thank goodness we have Christine Pedi around to translate a video like Telephone into something I can understand. The ever-fabulous cabaret queen of mimicry says, "This reflects deep affection and respect for all four women who inspired it, intense love of musical theater and total insanity."

By the way, Pedi will be up in P-Town all summer performing her award-winning Great Dames at The Post Office Cabaret. Go and laugh yourself silly.
