Reggie Workman's Sculptured Sounds and The Cinarae Group present THE HAPPENING 2010 (Fri., Jan. 8, 2010, 5:30 - 11pm at Saint Peters Church), a no-holds barred, sound kaleidoscope of Jazz - in, out, Latin, electronic - all about. Proof positive that jazz is alive, well and kickin'! Featuring The Jane Ira Bloom Trio (w/Mark Helias & Bobby Previte), Jason Kao Hwang's EDGE, Writer/Poet Amiri Baraka, Bobby Sanabria's Quarteto Aché, TRIO 3 (lake/workman/cyrille) (Opening Act: Vocalist Francina Connors.) The artist-driven showcase also features jazz-related exhibitors, mini-demonstrations and Richard Conde's "Happening Now, "
a jazz photoscape of some of the today's top jazz illuminaries.
