The OBIE-winning HERE Arts Center proudly presents (RUS)H, with text and video design by James Scruggs, directed by Kristin Marting.  (RUS)H will appear as part of HERE's 2007-2008 mainstage season that includes seven new multi-disciplinary productions spanning theatre, dance, puppetry and multimedia work.

(RUS)H will run Wednesday, February 27 – Saturday, March 22 at 3LD Arts & Technology Center, as HERE undergoes construction and renovation on its way to becoming the new, much-anticipated HERE Arts Center.  This production will have its Official Opening on Saturday, March 1 at 8 PM.

From the creators of the 2005 HERE hit Disposable Men comes "(RUS)H, a psychosexual multi-media mystery.  Lost in a labyrinth of repeating memories and trapped in a failing marriage, Rus yearns to feel something new, full and real.  After a car accident, he connects with Sonny, a hustler, and quickly descends into a "down-low" world of sex, drugs and violence.  His wife Sirene becomes increasingly love starved as she watches Rus become more and more involved with Sonny.  Rus is drawn into and tempted by a shadow world, where, like Icarus with his wings of wax, he will be brought either to salvation or to ruin," describe press notes.

This production uses innovative technology including movement projections and experimental video puppets to create a surreal underworld without the use of sets or props.  RUS(H) also features salsa and tango-inspired movement and original music, infusing the story with life.  Told in a non-linear format, the fragmented memories of three characters weave together to tell their story.  (RUS)H examines the sometime seedy reality that underscores everyday lives, and explores how far some will go to escape the confines of their routine.

(RUS)H features performances by Marc Bovino, Chandra Thomas, Dax Valdes, Luis Vega and Lathrop Walker, with music by Steve Adorno, lights by Chris Brown, media effects by Hal Eagar, choreography by Anabella Lenzu and fight choreography by Qui Nguyen.

(RUS)H will play 16 performances as follows at 3LD Arts & Technology Center (80 Greenwich Street):  Wednesday – Saturday at 8PM. Tickets are $18.  Student tickets are $15 with valid ID at the box office.  Ticket purchases can be made online at www.here.org, by calling (212) 352-3101. For more info, visit www.here.org.
