Reading Under the Influence: The "Real" Westchester Women's Book Club is written by Weissberger Award winning playwright Tony Glazer and directed by Wendy C. Goldberg (winner of the 2010 Regional Tony Award). It began performances on Wednesday, April 6, with its official press opening on April 16 at Union Square's DR2 (103 East 15 Street). In Reading Under the Influence, the wine hits the fan as the women of the Westchester Book Club gather to discuss their current required reading, The Homeless Dogs of Egypt. During their chardonnay-fueled discussion, they find out that the rights to their book club have been sold to a reality TV Production Company. It's the "The Real Housewives" meets "Oprah." Don't judge a book club by its cover... you never know how the pages will turn!

Wendy C. Goldberg (Director) is in her seventh season as Artistic Director of the National Playwrights Conference at The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Under Goldberg's tenure, The O'Neill was awarded the 2010 Regional Tony Award, the first play development and education organization to receive this honor. She is the first woman to lead the conference in its forty six year history. Goldberg is also an award winning director whose own credits include Rebecca Gilman's Dollhouse (Guthrie), Rebecca Gilman's The Crowd You're in With (Goodman), four productions for Arena Stage (where she served as Artistic Associate from 2000-2005), two productions for Actors Theater of Louisville, two productions for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, four productions for The Denver Center, a world premiere for the ALLIANCE THEATRE, a world premiere for Florida Stage, Signature Theatre, Round House Theater, and Paper Mill Playhouse among others. Goldberg is also represented on Broadway with Rock of Ages where she served as Creative Advisor. Goldberg will direct the world premiere of Lisa Loomer's Two Things You Don't Talk About At Dinner for the Denver Center in the upcoming season. Wendy serves on the Executive Board of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
