Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) presents SNAPSHOTS, a series of seven new ten-minute musicals, as part of their Winter 2010 Dark Nights Series at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew.
11 writers. 7 moments. 1 life. Take a trip through one woman's life by viewing snapshots of seven important moments, each featuring an influential figure in her history. From life-altering encounters with her mother and childhood tutor, to her grad school professor and her soul mate, each "snapshot" will entertain and challenge audiences to consider how those closest to us make us who we are.
Performed by a cast of Prospect veterans and directed by Dev Bondarin, SNAPSHOTS is the latest product of Prospect's annual Musical Theatre Lab, subsequent to 2008's MAP QUEST and 2007's MUSEUM PIECES. Writing teams are selected for the program by open application, and create their ten-minute musical based off a specific assignment given to the group. The seven short pieces generated by the lab participants are then presented as a single evening of interrelated new musicals.
SNAPSHOTS will be presented on the set of Prospect's production of The Hidden Sky, at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (263 West 86th Street, between Broadway and West End Avenue). Performances are February 15th @ 8pm, February 16th @ 8pm, February 17th @ 8pm, February 21st @ 8pm, February 22nd @ 8pm, and February 23rd @ 8pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance by calling 212-352-3101 or by visiting www.ProspectTheater.org. (Service charges will apply.)
