Preview performances of DOT by Colman Domingo - currently starring as Strand on AMC's FEAR THE WALKING DEAD and also in The Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner THE BIRTH OF A NATION by Nate Parker begin tonight, February 4, at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). Directed by multiple Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, who returns to The Vineyard for the first time since she directed the theater's acclaimed world premiere of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, DOT opens February 23.

The holidays are always a wild family affair at the Shealy house. But this year, Dotty and her three grown children gather with more than exchanging presents on their minds. As Dotty struggles to hold on to her memory, her children must fight to balance care for their mother and care for themselves. This twisted and hilarious new play grapples unflinchingly with aging parents, midlife crises, and the heart of a West Philly neighborhood. Colman Domingo (WILD WITH HAPPY) returns to The Vineyard following his solo show A BOY AND HIS SOUL and Tony Award® nomination for THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, reuniting with Tony Award®-winning director Susan Stroman after her ground-breaking work on THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS.

DOT will feature set design by Allen Moyer (GREY GARDENS), costume design by Kara Harmon (MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at OSF), lighting design by Ben Stanton (FUN HOME), sound design by Tom Morse (SYLVIA) and hair & makeup design by Dave Bova (THE REAL THING). Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein, CSA.

On Tuesday, February 9 at 7pm, the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF), a charity dedicated to funding the discovery of drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's disease, is hosting a performance of DOT as a special fundraising event which will feature a pre-show reception at 6pm and discussion afterward with director Susan Stroman, ADDF's Dr. Howard Fillit and the cast of DOT. A portion of all sales to this performance is a tax-deductible donation to the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation ($135 per ticket). Information about the organization and tickets to this performance can be found at www.alzdiscovery.org/events/event/dot-a-play-by-colman-domingo.
