Playwrights Horizons is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for up to two $5 tickets each to the New York premiere of Fly By Night: A New Musical, conceived by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still); written by Will Connolly (performer, Once), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents, the upcoming film The Giver) and Ms. Rosenstock; choreographed by Sam Pinkleton (Mr. Burns at PH; Natasha, Pierre...); and directed by Carolyn Cantor (The Great God Pan and After the Revolution at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Flower Water).

The LIVEforFIVE lottery for FLY BY NIGHT will be for tickets to the first preview on Friday evening, May 16 at 8PM at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The production has an Opening Night set for Wednesday, June 11 (previously Tuesday, June 10) and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, June 29.

A ticketing initiative created in 2007 as part of Playwrights Horizons' Arts Access program, LIVEforFIVE makes a limited number of $5 tickets available for the first preview performance of each Playwrights Horizons production through a lottery via the company's website (www.PHnyc.org).

Details for the LIVEforFIVE lottery are as follows: beginning today, theatergoers can enter the lottery by filling out an entry form at www.PHnyc.org. Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, May 13 at 12 Noon. Winners of the lottery will be notified via email no later than 3PM on Tuesday, May 13 with instructions on how to book their $5 tickets. Unclaimed tickets will be offered via email to a limited standby list starting at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 14 on a first-come, first-served basis. One or two tickets may be purchased for $5 each.

The cast of FLY BY NIGHT features Allison Case (Hair, Hands on a Hardbody, Mamma Mia!), Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and the Starcatcher, Next to Normal, Rent), Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Peter Friedman (The Great God Pan, The Shaggs, After the Revolution, Circle Mirror Transformation, The Heidi Chronicles at PH; Ragtime), Michael McCormick (Coming Attractions at PH; Chaplin; Elf; Curtains), Patti Murin (Wicked, Xanadu, Love's Labour's Lost), Drama Desk Award nominee Bryce Ryness (Hair, First Date, Around the World in 80 Days) and Obie Award winner Henry Stram (Black Sea Follies, Jack's Holiday at PH; Inherit the Wind; The Crucible; Antony and Cleopatra).

In this darkly comic rock-fable, a melancholy sandwich maker's (Mr. Chanler-Berat) hum-drum life is intersected by two entrancing sisters (Ms. Case and Ms. Murin). A sweeping ode to young love set against the backdrop of the northeast blackout of 1965, FLY BY NIGHT is a tale about making your way and discovering hope in a world beset by darkness.

The production features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter and sound design by Ken Travis and Alex Hawthorn. The FLY BY NIGHT band is Foe Destroyer. Musical Director is Vadim Feichtner. Production Stage Manager is Kyle Gates.

The performance schedule for FLY BY NIGHT will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7PM, Thursdays and Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2:30 PM & 8PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM. The Thursday, May 29 evening performance has a 7PM curtain for the special 30&Under performance and the Tuesday, June 3 evening performance has an 8PM curtain. In addition, there's an added performance on Monday, June 9 at 8PM.

LIVEforFIVE, FIRST ROW SUNDAYS and HOTtix are three of Playwrights Horizons' popular Arts Access initiatives, which allow the institution to reach out to those who may not be able to afford the cost of a full-price theater ticket. This program is supported, in part, by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, McGraw Hill Financial and an Anonymous Individual Donor.
