The New Victory Theater presents Pigs, Bears and Billy Goats Gruff, by Australia's award-winning Patch Theatre Company to run from March 28 through April 6. In the kitchen of an old country house, three storytellers and a musician bring to life four classic children's tales with only a table, three chairs, a small collection of household items.
"An evocative mix of storytelling, design and live music gives rise to surprising, humorous and vivid adaptations of three traditional favorites – The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff alongside a lesser known classic – The Three Feathers. Pigs, Bears and Billy Goats Gruff is a subtle and funny theatrical performance that contains enough intrigue and adventure to captivate both children and their parents. The production boasts Patch Theatre Company's trademark eloquence, simplicity and stage invention, bringing inventive imagery to old tales that remain as relevant to children today as they have always been," describe press notes.
David Brown directs Pigs, Bears and Billy Goats Gruff. Musical director is Stuart Day, choreographer is Jenn Havelberg, designer is Dean Hills, and lighting designer is David Green.
The cast includes: Jacqy Phillips, Stephen Sheehan, Astrid Pill or Eileen Darley, Stuart Day or Belinda Gehlert.
