On the eve of the 45th anniversary of her seminal musical DON'T BOTHER ME, I CAN'T COPE, multiple award-winning artist, Micki Grant, was honored at The York Theatre Company on Monday, February 22, 2016. Scroll down for photos from the festivities!
A guest panel, moderated by Erich McMillan-McCall, included Ms. Grant, who was joined by Leslie Dockery (director), William Foster McDaniel (Music Director), Julia Lema (assistant to the director), and Tina Fabrique (performer). Ms. Grant discussed her career and what it took to move DON'T BOTHER ME, I CAN'T COPE, the first full-length musical written by an African-American woman to make it to Broadway, from the page to the Broadway stage.

Roberts, Raun Ruffin, and Debra Walton.
The limited engagement of DON'T BOTHER ME, I CAN'T COPE will play 10 performances only February 27 - March 6, 2016 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night performance on Sunday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. will be followed by a "Can't Cope with the Oscars Party."
