Now open Off-Broadway at The Playroom Theater, The Bullpen hosted a special preview performance and Q & A for Prison Reform Advocates, Re-Entry Programs, and Theatrical Professionals. Those in attendance included The Legal Aid Society, Fortune Society, Incarcerated Nation Campaign, Urban Justice Center, Jails Action Coalition, and many more.
The Bullpen, which early reviews have heralded as "bold" and "original" featuring "solid writing with exception execution" by Joe Assadourian, will play on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm through June. Beginning July 7th, The Bullpen will be presented Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 7:00pm, with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays for an extended Summer run.

The evening''s panel included Director Richard Hoehler (left), Fortune Society Founder David Rothenberg (center), and Writer/Performer Joe Assadourian (right).
"I need an hour of that" replied Richard Hoehler, an Off-Broadway Solo Show veteran, after seeing the first 8 minutes of Assadourian''s early draft from The Bullpen in a theatre workshop at Otisville Correctional Facility.
"There''s no way to measure how much my life has changed. 8 months ago, I was in prison. This morning, I''m on TV. Did you guys see that? That was awesome."
"He used to get kicked out of school for joking with his voices and impersonating his teachers. He can have a minute long conversation with you and that''s it. He''s got you figured out."
Assaourian stops for a photo with participants of the Exponents Center, an institution that rehabilitates those at risk with histories of drug use and addiction.
The evening quickly became a forum for many to share their personal experiences, both serious and hilarious, while participating in the many roles of the legal and correctional system.
