The new play ROMANCE LANGAUGE receives its New York City premiere this fall at Theater 511 at Ars Nova (511 W 54th St, New York). Written by Joe Godfrey (A Queer Carol) and directed by Carl Andress (Charles Busch's The Tribute Artist and The Divine Sister), ROMANCE LANGUAGE stars Mairin Lee (Broadway's The Heiress), Audrey Heffernan Meyer ("Royal Pains"), and Jared Zirilli (Pretty Filthy). ROMANCE LANGUAGE officially opened last night, October 22, 2015, playing a strictly limited engagement through November 8, 2015. BroadwayWorld has photos from the opening festivities below!

When a wealthy Manhattan widow takes up private lessons with an alluring young Italian instructor, she learns much more than just a language. As an unexpected romance blossoms, her daughter raises doubts concerning this mysterious teacher's intentions. The three tangle with art, passion, and even vendetta in Joe Godfrey's Romance Language. Romance Language had its World Premiere in 2014 at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, Connecticut.

The creative and production team for ROMANCE LANGUAGE includes scenic design by Paul Tate DePoo III, costume design by Tony Award nominee Gregory Gale, lighting design by Grant Yeager, sound design by Bart Fasbender, and casting by Geoff Josselson. Stephen Sury is Production Manager and Ashley Rodbro is Production Stage Manager.
