Playwright Beth Henley was in the audience on Saturday night (February 28) to see TACT's production of her play, ABUNDANCE. The cast was not told she was there until after the show and were thrilled to meet her. Scroll down to see her beaming backstage with the cast!

ABUNDANCE, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Henley (Crimes of the Heart), is an epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West. Abundance is directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances began at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on February 17, and the production opened yesterday, March 1. Performances will continue through March 28, 2015.

In Abundance, the breathtaking tall tale of Bess and Macon, two mail-order brides are lured to the plains of Wyoming by the promise of new beginnings. As wild and unpredictable as the untamed West itself, this fierce and funny adventure spans a 25-year journey, unearthing along the way the dark underside of American mythology and the unbreakable bonds of female friendship.

The cast includes TACT Company Members Kelly McAndrew (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - B'way), Tracy Middendorf (Ah, Wilderness! - LCT), Jeff Talbott (Sly Fox - B'way) and Guest Artists Todd Lawson (Summer and Smoke - B'way), and Ted Koch (The Pillowman - B'way).

The creative team is comprised of Wilson Chin (sets), Tracy Christensen (costumes), Philip Rosenberg (lights), and Toby Algya (sound). Erin Gioia Albrecht is Production Stage Manager and Kelly Burns is Assistant Stage Manager.
