THE QUALMS is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season and reunites Mr. Norris and Ms. MacKinnon at Playwrights Horizons for the first time since their acclaimed, hit production Clybourne Park. The cast just met the press and BroadwayWorld has a peek at the company below!
Thou shalt covet thy neighbor's wife. And thy neighbor, too, at this suburban get-together for partner-swapping couples. Drawn in by The Lifestyle's promise of freedom and titillation, a newly-married couple attend an alcohol-fueled party for swingers, only to find themselves at odds with the idea of free love and, suddenly, each other. Idealism devolves into chaos in this sharp, sardonic assault on the struggle for power and the sexual politics of getting laid.
The production features scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Russell H. Champa and sound design by Rick Sims.
Previews begin Friday, May 22 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater. Opening Night is set for Sunday, June 14 with a limited engagement through Sunday, July 12. Info & Tickets: www.PHnyc.org.
