Tony Award-winning actress Lillias White delighted students as their special surprise guest during the Broadway Artists Alliance 2011 Winter Workshop. Lillias White (Fela, The Life, etc.) lent her talents for a surprise Q&A with the students of Broadway Artists Alliance. White shared her experiences in the business and expert advice to the 100 eager up-and-coming young artists ages 10 to 21.
Following the Q&A, White led the group of young performers in a song interpretation session, working one-on-one with Broadway Artists Alliance students.Lillias White was a welcome addition to the Broadway Artists Alliance's roster of Tony winning guest speakers, which have recently included impressive talent such as Sutton Foster, Gregory Jbara, Katie Finneran, Bebe Neuwirth, Douglas Hodge, Trent Kowalik, Karen Olivo, Bill Irwin, Laura Benanti, Norbert Leo Butz, Beth Leavel, John Gallagher Jr., Lea Salonga, John Lloyd Young, Marc Shaiman, and Jason Robert Brown.The Q&A and Song Interpretation Session were part of Broadway Artists Alliance's three-day Winter Workshop at Ripley Grier Studios, NYC.Additional BAA's instructors and special guests that have recently included Tony winners Sutton Foster (Shrek) , Katie Finneran (Promises Promises), Trent Kowalik (Billy Elliott), Bebe Neuwirth (Addams Family), Gregory Jbara (Billy Elliot), Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd), Andrea Martin (Young Frankenstein), John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys), John Gallager Jr. (Spring Awakening), Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), Laura Benanti (Gypsy), Douglas Hodge (La Cage), Beth Leavel (Drowsy Chaperone), Jason Robert Brown (13) as well as Lea Michele (Glee), Megan Hilty (9 to 5), Susan Blackwell ([title of show]), Stephanie J.
