Theatreworks USA, the nation's leading not-for-profit professional theatre for family audiences, continues its 47th season with a return engagement of the hit musical based on Barbara Park's best-selling books, Junie B. Jones, for a limited engagement at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, New York City), Thursday, March 20 through Sunday, May 4, 2008, with an official opening on Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m.

Junie B. Jones features book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich (the award-winning songwriting team behind "Taylor the Latte Boy," Dear Edwina, and the Broadway-bound musical Ever After.)  The show is based on the popular children's books by Barbara Park, and is directed by Peter Flynn with choreography by Devanand Janki, the staging duo behind Theatreworks USA's 2006 success, Henry and Mudge.

In Junie B. Jones, outspoken, lovable Junie B. experiences a new teacher, new classmates, new glasses, and other angst-ridden first grade situations as she records all her adventures in her Top-Secret Personal Beeswax journal.

The musical's summer 2004 premiere received Lortel Award nominations for Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Choreography.  The show returned to the Lucille Lortel Theatre in fall 2005 for another sold-out engagement.

With songs including "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax," "Camille, Lucille, Chenille," "You Can Be My Friend" and "Lunch Box," Junie B. Jones is recommended for children ages 5 and up.

Junie B. Jones features Randy Aaron (Dame Edna: Back with a Vengeance) as Sheldon, Shannon Antalan (Caroline, or Change) as Lucille, Jennifer Cody (The Pajama Game) as Junie B. Jones, Blake Ginther (Les Misérables revival) as Herb, Sarah Saltzberg (....Spelling Bee) as May, and John Scherer (Lovemusik) as Mr. Scary/Gladys Gutzman.

The production features scenic design by Luke Hegel-Cantarella (Make Me a Song), costume design by Lora LaVon (Urinetown), lighting design by Jeff Croiter (Kiki and Herb: Alive on Broadway), sound design by Eric Shim (Seussical), and orchestrations by Scott Davenport Richards.
