Producers Howard and Janet Kagan present Dave Malloy's groundbreaking electropop opera NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 at Kazino (West 13th Street and Washington Street). Kazino is a brand new venue created specifically for the show, in the heart of New York's meatpacking district, to transport audiences to a Russian supper club, complete with an authentic Russian menu and bar. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, which will officially open on Thursday, May 16th, was recently nominated for five Drama Desk Awards (Outstanding New Musical, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Lyrics, Outstanding Direction of a Musical, Outstanding Costume Design) and two Drama League Awards (Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Performance - Phillipa Soo). NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 began previews on Wednesday, May 1st.

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 first premiered at New York City's Ars Nova in a seven-week sold out run, during which it was showered with rave reviews and landed at the top of the year's best-of lists in The New York Times, Time Out New York and The New York Post. It was one of the hottest tickets in town, but played just 39 performances. Following the Ars Nova engagement, producers Howard & Janet Kagan were approached with numerous transfer options ranging from traditional theaters to raw spaces before deciding to create a wholly original space inspired by the show itself, in partnership with Randy Weiner and Simon Hammerstein who together created perennial New York hotspot The Box (New York, London) and its sister club, The Act (Las Vegas, Dubai).

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, the recent recipient of the 2013 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater, invites you to join Tolstoy's brash young lovers for an evening you'll never forget, as vodka flows and passions ignite in Dave Malloy's electropop opera, ripped from a slice of War and Peace. At once stunning, sensual, and inspired, this singular theatrical event promises "a rare and marvelous event: amidst the din of New York, an oasis of artful illumination." (Time Out New York)

The cast also features Nicholas Belton, Catherine Brookman, Luke Holloway, Azudi Onyejekwe, Mariand Torres and Lauren Zakrin.

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 also features choreography by Sam Pinkleton, scenic design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by Bradley King, music direction by Or Matias, sound design by Matt Hubbs, music supervision by Sonny Paladino and casting by Duncan Stewart and Company.
