Photo Flash: First Look at MIKE & MOLLY Creator's Off-Broadway Play NEW COUNTRY

Produced by Fair Trade Theatre Company in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, NEW COUNTRY, the uncensored Off-Broadway play by the creator of Mike & Molly and Executive Producer of Two and a Half Men opened on May 20th. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Handsome, egotistical Country music star Justin Spears is on top of the charts. With his newly acquired fame and fortune, Justin has become one egotistical, ungrateful celebrity. His managerial entourage, Paul and Chuck, fall victim of his numerous pranks and hostile whims as well as the star-struck hotel bellboy Ollie, his scorned ex-girlfriend Sharon and his dirty, old Uncle Jim who arrives at his nephew's bachelor party with his garbage bag of clothes and Wanda June Whitmore, his blow up sex doll. So how does this rowdy, raucous, rodeo go so wrong...so fast?

With booze, bong hits, blackmail and a blast. Welcome to the NEW COUNTRY, where the hits just keep on comin'. Where the phoniness is phoned in and the egos, reality and people are full of hot air - sometimes literally. When the chickens come home to roost, will Justin come out on top, or will his career go pop?

An actor, stand-up comedian, and writer, playwright Mark Roberts is best known for his TV work on Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly. Roberts trained as an actor and began his theater career in 1982 outside Chicago, where he first worked with director David Harwell.
