TWELFTH NIGHT, created by Filter Theatre in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company, began performances at NYU Skirball last night for a strictly limited run through February 20, 2016. Check out the photos below for a first look at the cast in action!
A radically-cut, fast-paced version of Shakespeare's much-loved comedy where classical verse meets riotous gig, Filter Theatre's explosive and irreverent new take on this story of romance, satire, and mistaken identity combines dynamic narrative drive with a torrent of sound and music. Performed by actors in everyday clothes, the experience is more akin to a rock concert than classical theater, creating an exhilarating live chemistry between actor and audience.
TWELFTH NIGHT features original direction by Sean Holmes, redirection byOliver Dimsdale and Ferdy Roberts (Artistic Directors of Filter Theatre), and will star Ronke Adekoluejo as Olivia, Sandy Foster as Feste/Maria, Harry Jardine as Orsino/Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Amy Marchant as Viola/Sebastian, Fergus O'Donnell as Malvolio, and Dan Poole as Sir Toby Belch. TWELFTH NIGHTfeatures music and sound by Tom Haines and Ross Hughes.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.nyuskirball.org or by phone at 888-611-8183.
