3A Productions All That Might Happen by John Philip and directed by Michael Portantiere has received its second extension. Originally scheduled through Saturday, March 6, the limited engagement will now play through Saturday, March 20 at Manhattan Theatre Source (177 MacDougal St.).
All That Might Happen is set in February 1984. Two gay men, Corey and Seth, plan to sign an agreement tomorrow with a surrogate mother, Helen, to have a child. She comes to tell them she has changed her mind.
The play stars Mariah Bonner (
David Fincher's upcoming The Social Network), Barbara Mundy (A Body Without A Head),
John Philip (
The Bostonians), Andrew Loren Resto (Hollywood Confidential) and
Brandon Ruckdashel (Ascension and Twist).
The production's vibrant set by Emmy Award-winning designer George McGarvey features paintings by Andrew Loren Resto ("Seth"), whose new work was first seen at the Cherry Grove Arts Project show last summer. Barbara Mundy ("Helen") carries an original couture bag as part of her costume, furnished by Charles L. Thomas. The bag was featured at the designer's exhibit at the World Shoe Association Exposition in Las Vegas in February 2008.
Qonstage.com raved that playwright
John Philip "succeeds indeed in succinctly and convincingly covering all bases with sensitivity and eloquence."
