Actress Kim Rogers, who tackles roles in 3 of the 5 plays, kept a photo journal of her first three-show day. Bouncing from Germany in DER KANARIENVOGEL to France in LITTLE WARS and back to America in NEAT & TIDY, Kim mastered three very different characters in just one day. Scroll down to spend a day in Kim's shoes!

Taking on three roles in Beautiful Soup's Festival of Steven Carl McCasland plays was a daunting task to begin with, but my mettle and endurance was truly tested on May 9th when I did all three shows (two of them openings!). Here''s a look at my day playing Kirsten Flagstad in Der Kanarienvogel, Agatha Christie in Little Wars, and Laura in neat and tidy.
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the opening of Der Kanarienvogel. I love my costumes for this show. Our costume designer Somie Pak did an excellent job!
Is this picture in poor taste? Probably. But I couldn''t resist snapping a backstage selfie with David Gautschy, who plays Hitler. David is the sweetest and most mild-mannered guy in real life, so it''s been completely chilling watching him transform every night. He does a fantastic job with a role few people would want to play.
As soon as everyone cleared out after Der Kanarienvogel, I take down my Heidi braids and start setting my hair in finger waves to play Agatha Christie in Little Wars. Normally my hair has to set in these clips all day (which makes going to my day job interesting) but now I have just over two hours to get it right. We ordered in some pizza and all sat on the patio at the Clarion Theatre while I silently willed my hair to dry in time.
Success!! Time for Little Wars! I snapped this backstage with my castmate Kristen Gehling, who plays Mary. Kristen is in four of the festival shows and assistant directed Der Kanarienvogel. She has a triple day of her own coming up later this month. Whenever I start to get tired, I think of her. She''s amazing.
The turnaround between Little Wars and neat and tidy was super quick, so I brushed out the Aggie hair (see why it needs to set all day? You can't even tell my hair was in finger waves just moments ago!) and plugged in my headphones to get focused for neat and tidy. Today's music of choice? Sara Bareilles.
A 'break a leg' kiss from Brian Piehl right before neat and tidy, the last show of the day. Brian is also in four shows but by the luck of scheduling, avoided having a triple day. Everyone in the company was so supportive of me today. I''m incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many dedicated and awesome people.
ALL DONE. I can't believe I''m still standing. An exhausting but wonderful and thrilling day. Looking forward to a glass of wine, Netflix, and my bed. The numerous double days I have for the rest of the festival will be a piece of cake after this!
