Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, just presented its 106th production, A Chekhov and Shaw Comedy Night, last night, September 21 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.).
From Chekhov, new translations of: Swan Song, a brief play in a new translation in which an actor finally takes a sobering look his life after he has just given his final performance. Featuring Tony winner George S. Irving and Tony nominee John Cariani (Something Rotten), and A Tragedian in Spite of Himself, a comedic take on the roles we allow ourselves to undertake in life. Featuring John Cariani and Christopher Innvar.
The evening features Press Cuttings, Shaw's short comedy about the struggle for Women's rights and the ever-present power of the press. Two dynamic women hold a top-level General captive... but losing his heart is the one thing he never expected. Featuring Tony winner Fritz Weaver, Tony nominee John Cariani, Jackie Hoffman, Cynthia Harris, Christopher Innvar, Christine Pedi, and Diane Stilwell Weinberg.
