Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director David Staller, just presented George Bernard Shaw's 1893 comedy, The Philanderer, last night, February 24 at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St). BroadwayWorld was there for the reading and you can check out photos below!
Directed by David Staller, The Philanderer featured Marc Kudisch (Leonard Charteris), Heidi Armbruster (Mrs. Grace Tranfield), Lauren Molina (Julia Craven), Daniel Jenkins (Col. Daniel Craven, V.C.), Nick Wyman (Joseph Cuthbertson), Justine Salata (Sylvia Craven) and Ed Dixon (Dr. Paramore). amNY Theater critic Matt Windman was Narrator/Club Page.
Shaw's wickedly witty comedy, The Philanderer, follows a day in the life of a roguish gentleman Marc Kudisch, doing his best to avoid making a commitment to either of the two women (Heidi Armbruster and Lauren Molina) who may or may not actually want him to. In The Philanderer, Shaw takes on most of the classic Shaw issues, questioning societal expectations, sex, relationships, sense of self, science, religion and politics.
