Atlantic Theater Company presented their annual Spring Gala Bring It On Home last night, March 5, 2012 at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers - an evening of soul music celebrating the upcoming re-opening of the company's newly renovated Linda Gross main stage theater.
The Gala featured special appearances by Larry Bryggman, Jez Butterworth, Kathryn Erbe, Giancarlo Esposito, Amanda Green, James Monroe Iglehart, Peter Maloney, Eloise Mumford, Elizabeth Olsen, Joan Osborne, Mary Beth Peil, Isiah Whitlock, Jr. and more, toasting the historic $8M renovation to Atlantic's main stage theater as well as the accomplishments of the award-winning Off-Broadway theater company.
Bring It On Home is Atlantic's most important fundraising event of the year. Gala contributions make up more than 25% of the total donations to Atlantic in an entire season and benefit Atlantic's productions, new play development initiatives, and arts education programs for more than 3,000 public school students across New York City. These programs give children from underserved backgrounds the increasingly rare opportunity to express themselves creatively and promote in-school engagement.
Past Atlantic Galas have saluted Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winning actress and Ensemble member Felicity Huffman, Atlantic co-founders William H. Macy and David Mamet, and Academy Award® winning Atlantic Ensemble member Mary Steenburgen and husband Emmy® and Golden Globe Award® winner Ted Danson.
