Performance Network Theatre is proud to announce it's spring production, "Circle Mirror Transformation." This smart and moving comedy, by Annie Baker, will close on May 22, 2011. "Circle Mirror Transformation" is directed by John Seibert, who has previously directed Performance Network's award winning production of "Doubt" as well as the existential classic, "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead."

Named one of the top ten plays of 2009-10 by The New York Times and Time Out New York, as well as one of the Best of Off-Broadway by the New Yorker, "Circle Mirror Transformation" won the 2010 Obie Award for Best Play, and was extended four times by its original producer, Playwright's Horizons, due to its extreme popularity with audiences.

"Circle Mirror Transformation," which borrows its name from an acting game, is a beatifully crafted story about love, relationships and raising the stakes. In a community center drama class, four New Englanders experiment with theatre games and learn about more than just acting. Under the misguided tutelage of their ditzy instructor Marty, romance blossoms, secrets are revealed and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. Starring Terry Heck ("Christmas Carol'd," "A Feminine Ending"), Mark Rademacher ("The White Rose"), Taras Michael Los, Eva Rosenwald ("The Drowsy Chaperone") and Sarah Leahy.

Artistic Director David Wolber said "we love this script, not only because it's very quirky and funny but also because it's universal - there is a lot to recognize in these ordinary people that have come together to take an acting class. Over the course of 6 weeks, we see them go from  shy and wary strangers to opening up, revealing their deepest secrets and really loving each other as individuals and unique people."

Weekly performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm, with a 3pm matinee on Saturday May 7 and May 21.

Tickets can be ordered at the Performance Network Box Office at 734-663-0681, online at
www.performancenetwork.org or by coming to the Performance Network Theatre (120 East Huron St., Ann Arbor, 48104) Monday-Saturday 11-6 or one hour before a performance. Tickets are priced at $22 - $41, with discounts available for seniors, members, students and groups. There is a pay-what-you-can performance on April 21 (suggested donation of $10).

"Circle Mirror Transformation" features scenic and lighting design by Daniel C. Walker, costume design by Suzanne Young, sound design by Jeromy Hopgood and properties by Charles Sutherland. It is assistant directed by Phil Powers.

This production is generously sponsored by Candis and Helmut Stern.
