POWER BALLADZ - the new rock and roll cabaret musical that features some of the most unforgettable rock anthems of the 70's 80's and 90's - will begin its Off-Broadway run at the Midtown Theater (163 W. 46 St. in Times Square) in August with a series of special weekly events that call to mind the fads, fashions and zeitgeist of that era in pop culture. With previews set to begin August 5 and opening night set for August 19, POWER BALLADZ will host the following weekly events:
August 5 to August 9 is billed as "Show Your Tattoo Week" - audience members who reveal their tattoo will be entitled to a free drink
August 12 to 16 is "Favorite Band Week" - patrons who wear a t-shirt with the name of their favorite rock band will receive a free drink
August 19 to 23 is the inevitable "Mullet Week" - anyone with a mullet will, yes, get a free drink.
PLEASE NOTE: for those unaware, a mullet is the hairstyle - short in front, long in back -- that enjoyed popularity with rock bands (aka "hair bands") and their fans in the 70's and 80's. It is affectionately known as the hairstyle that signals "business in the front, party in the back." Mullets have been sported through the decades by a host of figures as varied as Florence Henderson (in "The Brady Bunch"), David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Bolton and Tom Jones. The popularity of the mullet is not simply confined to the pop music scene; the style is also popular with hockey, football and soccer players. Its use is widespread and the style has been popular in Spain, Australia, Germany, Sweden, the U.S. and just about everywhere at some point in time.
POWER BALLADZ is also sponsoring a "Babe of the Week" contest throughout the run of the show: patrons are invited to submit the photo of their favorite female whom they consider to meet the generally-accepted criteria to be classified as a 'babe' or 'foxy lady.' After being featured on the POWER BALLADZ website, the winner of the 'Babe of the Week' contest will be entitled to a "Girls Night Out" with four free tickets to POWER BALLADZ and four free drinks. Entries are accepted at babe@powerballadz.com.

centerstage in the wicked new rock cabaret musical POWER BALLADZ, debuting
Off-Broadway at the Midtown Theatre (163 W. 46 St.) in Manhattan, with
previews starting August 5th prior to an official press opening on August 19th.

that gives audiences the chance to unleash their inner rock star: part comedy, part interactive game show, and a genuine joy ride through the music and legend of rock songs by powerhouse bands such as Guns 'N' Roses, Journey, Heart, Queens, Bon Jovi, Styx and more. POWER BALLADZ is created by Mike Todaro, Dan Nycklemoe with
Peter Rothstein, and written by Mr. Todaro and Mr. Nycklemoe.
POWER BALLADZ comes to New York following a sold-out premiere at The

rock. It will make your sap rise." And the Downtown Journal called
the show "an immensely entertaining trip through the Wayback Machine."

And while the POWER BALLADZ band knows how to rock, the show takes an unexpected turn when the high school
sweetheart of one of the musicians stumbles into the show after ten years apart, raising the question -- will he be man enough to finally score the girl of his dreams?
