Welsh writer Hywel John's critically acclaimed dark fable of loss and revenge makes its US premiere at Brits Off Broadway. When childhood is shattered by grief can the pieces be reassembled? The Guardian called PIECES "a demonic contemporary fairytale whose psychological surety will leave you in pieces."

This striking and unforgettable Brothers Grimm-like tale marks the welcome return of Wales' Clwyd Theatr Cymru, under the artistic leadership of Olivier Award-winning director (and former head of the Royal Shakespeare Company) Terry Hands, whose arresting production of Memory was seen at Brits in 2007.

59E59 Theaters is thrilled that actress Louise Collins, who turned in an extraordinary performance in The Pull of Negative Gravity at Brits 2005, also returns to 59E59 Theaters for PIECES. Joining Ms. Collins in the cast are Jennifer Kidd and Steven Meo.

The design team includes Mark Bailey (costume and production design), Tom White (lighting design) and Andrea J. Cox (sound design).

PIECES is Hywel John's (playwright) first play, and is published by Nick Hern Books. Trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Recent theatre credits include: The Glass Menagerie (Clwyd Theatr Cymru), Macbeth starring Patrick Stewart (Chichester, West End & Broadway), Angry Young Man (Trafalgar Studios, Adelaide Festival, BAC, Edinburgh Festival), and Twelfth Night (Chichester). Film credits include: Macbeth (BBC Films, PBS America & Illuminations). Hywel co-runs the award-winning MahWaff Theatre Company.

Kate Wasserberg (director) is New Plays Director at Clwyd Theatr Cymru where directing credits include Dancing at Lughnasa, The Glass Menagerie and A History of Falling Things. Previously she was Associate Director of the Finborough Theatre, London, where she directed The Man, Sons of York and Little Madam, all by James Graham and The Representative, I Wish to Die Singing and The New Morality.
