On Monday, May 19, 2008 at 8PM the original Off-Broadway cast of the acclaimed 2006 musical comedy I LOVE YOU BECAUSE will reunite for a special one-night only concert presentation at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, NYC).

The reunion concert features musical direction by the show's composer, Joshua Salzman, and is directed by librettist/lyricist Ryan Cunningham. The original Off-Broadway cast includes Farah Alvin, David A. Austin, Courtney Balan, Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Colin Hanlon and Jordan Leeds.

Since the 2006 Off-Broadway premiere production, I LOVE YOU BECAUSE has gone on to play nearly two dozen productions around the world.

"As I LOVE YOU BECAUSE continues to reach new audiences both nationally and internationally, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give New Yorkers another chance to experience the fantastic original cast of this charming show," said reunion concert producer Jennifer Maloney (Spring Awakening, Legally Blonde).

Tickets for the I LOVE YOU BECAUSE reunion concert at $20 each and are available by visiting www.ILoveYouBecauseTheMusical.com

Dubbed "a modern day musical love story," I LOVE YOU BECAUSE follows Austin Bennet (Colin Hanlon), an uptight greeting card writer whose life is turned upside down when he finds his long-term girlfriend in bed with another man.

Forced back out into the treacherous New York dating scene, Austin meets Marcy Fitzwilliams (Farah Alvin), a free-spirited photographer whose spontaneity is matched only by her ability to drive him insane. They are constantly misguided by Austin's brother Jeff (David A. Austin) and Marcy's best friend Diana Bingley (Stephanie D'Abruzzo).

Together, they explore the 'rules' and nuances of dating in the big city as they learn how to love someone, not in spite of their differences, but because of them.

The original Off-Broadway production of I LOVE YOU BECAUSE opened at the Village Theatre on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. It was produced by Jennifer Maloney, Fred M. Caruso, Robert Cuillo and GFour Productions, in association with Jana Robbins, Sharon Carr and Jeffrey Kent.
