DOUBLE PLAY CONNECTIONS, LLC & Wild Bird Productions, INC. are pleased to announce the world premiere workshop production of the musical OPA!, directed by Spiro Veloudos. OPA! will play a limited engagement as part of the Commercial Division of the Midtown International Theater Festival at the TGB Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Performances begin Saturday, July 19th.

The tiny Greek island of Elia has been left off the national map since....forever. Today, Costa, the newly elecTed Mayor, tries to reinvigorate the dispassionate villagers by announcing his recent discovery of the island on a globe. When a cruise ship is spotted in the distance heading straight for the island, the villagers band together in a desperate attempt to gain recognition from the outside world, as well as from each other. The mayhem that ensues ends up helping the villagers "see" their hidden selves along the way - the main message being to never hide your true self and to always to live a life of OPA! Let the singing and dancing begin!

The production stars Demetri Bonaros (Hipgnosis Theatre Company & Theatron, Inc.), Joseph Callari (Off-Broadway's A Good Man), Michael Dionissiou (White Widow, Call Me Madam (Goodspeed)), Carolee Goodgold (Top of the Heap, vocalist for Carly Simon, Larry Gatlin, Keely Smith), Abigail Hardin (Abby's Song (City Center), Little Kit (Vineyard)), Michael Alan Jacobs (Warsaw: The Musical), Jan Leslie Harding (The Green Bird, Obie Award for Sincerity Forever), Costa Nicolas (Tony Manero in Grease - Australian tour, Moulin Rouge, Happy Feet), Patrick Riviere ("The Jury" on Fox), Eric Ruben (Next Stop Wonderland, The Love Letter), Louis Michal Sacco (Off-Broadway's revival of Room Service) Natasha Tabandera (Bombay Dreams, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia).
