Alexa Kelly, Artistic Director of Pulse Ensemble Theatre, announced that Sorab Wadia and Amar Srivastava will join Rita Wolf in Anuvab Pal's Indian-flavored, bittersweet comedy "CHAOS THEORY" now playing at the TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, through June 19th. (They replace Ranjit Chowdhry and Tony Mirrcandani on Saturday evening, June 5th.)

Opening in India in 1965 where Mukesh Singh and Sunita Sen attend New Delhi University, and flashing forward to NYC in 2000, the play explores the unusual love story of two young students as they embrace the challenges of their bi-cultural lives. Director Alexa Kelly said: " This version of CHAOS THEORY by Anuvab Pal, was developed by PULSE ENSEMBLE THEATRE's Playwrights' Lab over the past 8 years, under the leadership of Lezley Streele. This script has had two major readings, one sponsored by the Indian American Arts Council, and the other, presented at the Indian Consulate, under the sponsorship of the Consulate General. CHAOS THEORY taps into the core of all human beings: the need to belong."

RITA WOLF has appeared in The Public's production of David Hare's "Stuff Happens", the World Premiere of Tony Kushner's "Homebody/Kabul" and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for "AMERICAN PILOT" AT MTC. She has appeared in Stephen Frears' "My Beautiful Laundrette", Spike Lee's "Girl Six" and on CBS' "The Good Wife."

SORAB WADIA, who will play Mukesh, is originally from Bombay, India, and has performed internationally in theater, opera, TV and film. Most recently Sorab played Hussein al-Mansour in Jihad! The Musical in London, a role he originated at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The London Times said: "In Sorab Wadia, who plays the leader of the terrorist cell, every inch the sharp-suited Arab businessman, they have a performer of real class who can both sing and dance, and brings the whole production to life every time he is on stage." Sorab also performs a one-man adaptation of The Kite Runner directed by Wynn Handman for the American Place Theatre, in New York and across the USA. He garnered rave reviews for his performances as Ali Hakim on the US national tour of Trevor Nunn's Broadway revival of Oklahoma!

AMAR SRIVASTAVA, who plays Amit, has appeared in regional theatres all over the US.

Director ALEXA KELLY co-founded Pulse Ensemble Theatre in 1989, and has been its Artistic Director since then. She said "We are thrilled to be presenting a play that we have developed as part of our 20th season celebration." In New York, Alexa has directed such classics as JUNO & THE PAYCOCK, THE SEAGULL, MURDER ON THE NILE, OH WHAT A LOVELY WAR, and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. She is also the Founder and Director of the Harlem Summer Shakespeare outreach series, now in its 6th season presenting free Shakespeare in NYC parks. Over 20,000 people have attended the company's productions in Harlem and on Governors Island.

ANUVAB PAL‘s "Chaos Theory" is the only Indian play to be the finalist in the BBC World Playwriting Competition (2007). In 2005 Mr. Pal became the first Indian-born playwright to join the Dramatists Guild of America and that same year PLAYBILL named him 'the leading South Asian playwright in the US.' In 2007 he won The Lark Theatre-Indo American Council Playwright Fellowship. His other plays include "OUT OF FASHION", "LIFE, LOVE AND EBITDA", "FATWA", "PARIS" and "THE PRESIDENT IS COMING". His screenplays include "Loins of Punjab Presents" and "Crossroads".

CHAOS THEORY opened TUESDAY, MAY 25 and continues its limited engagement through Saturday, June 19th. The regular performance schedule is Wednesday through Saturday at 8 pm with Sunday matinees at 3 PM. The play runs one hour and 20 minutes without intermission. Tickets at $25 are available through www.smarttix.com.
