Off-Broadway's hit comedy HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER will play two special added holiday performances tonight (Thursday) at 7pm and tomorrow at 1:30pm at the new Screening Room Theater at Planet Hollywood Times Square, 1540 Broadway (entrance on 45th Street just east of Broadway). Written and performed by Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle, HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER began performances August 22, 2012 at Sofia's Downstairs Theater where the show played to packed houses for more than a year. The production reopened at Planet Hollywood on October 19, 2013 to unanimous rave reviews. Due to overwhelming demand, the producers of HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER recently put a new block of seats on sale through April 26th.
The Planet Hollywood edition of HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER introduces a bounty of new material including the debut of its hilarious new sketch, "Real Housewives of the Upper East Side." HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER delivers a laugh-filled tour around the greatest city in the world with actors, comedians and licensed tour guides Ms. Copeland and Mr. Doyle as they play over 60 characters. Under the direction of OBIE Award winner Robert Ross Parker, this "Saturday Night Live" style comedy features a hilarious look at NYC's 400-year history. Immigrants, construction workers, muggers, Wall Street bankers, panhandlers, MTA workers, and Mayor Bloomberg all get a solid lampooning! The regular playing schedule for HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER is Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays at 1:30 & 7pm.
