After an acclaimed premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Soho Playhouse has extended the New York Premiere of THE RAP GUIDE TO RELIGION, a new musical written by and starring Drama Desk Award nominee Baba Brinkman (The Rap Guide to Evolution). Directed by Darren Lee Cole, performances of this Off-Broadway premiere, which opened October 10, will run through December 13 at SoHo Playhouse.
Can science explain religion? THE RAP GUIDE TO RELIGION takes the audience on a hip-hop tour of scientific research into the origins of supernatural beliefs and sacred symbols. Why do humans believe in a higher power? What are those beliefs good for? And once they are gone, what can replace them?

Sunday, December 6 will feature William Grassie, director of the Metanexus Institute and author of the book "The New Sciences of Religion" and Sunday, December 13 will feature Jonathan Haidt, the author of the New York Times bestseller "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion".
