OY VEY! THE PLAY Begins at Lion Theatre, Nov 23

OY VEY! THE PLAY will begin performances on Friday, November 23rd at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). This new comedy, which runs through December 16th is written by David Silberg and directed by Sue Lawless. OY VEY! THE PLAY is about a wealthy widow, her three daughters, her son, her Rabbi, and the hilarity that ensues after a handsome stranger enters their lives.

Featured in the cast are Jonathan Cantor, Victoria Guthrie, Bari Hyman, Nina Leese, Jack R. Marks, Jed Peterson, Carolyn Seiff and Sandy York. Set and lighting design is by Josh Iacovelli, with costume design by Stephanie Levin.

Sue Lawless (Director) Broadway: The Five O’Clock Girl. Off-Broadway: The Rise of David Levinsky, Cut the Ribbons, Body Shop, Potholes and In Gay Company (Drama Desk nomination). Her career includes plays, musicals and operas at numerous prestigious theatres as Brooklyn Academy Of Music, Goodspeed Opera House and the Paper Mill Playhouse.

David Silberg (Playwright) wrote and directed the TBS film Getting Played. His theater producing credits include: Penn & Teller, Forbidden Broadway in San Francisco, Avner the Eccentric and Mort Shahl’s America. He also produced the horror films Ancient Evil and The Frightening, HBO’s Skeletons, TNT’s The Secret Agent Club, the Sci-Fi Channel’s Assault on Dome 4 and the syndicated TV series Inside Soaps.

The playing schedule for OY VEY! THE PLAY is Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, Sundays at 3:00pm and Wednesdays at 2:00pm.
