The New York Musical Theatre Festival will continue to party into the night with the highly popular NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation, along with two concerts, an album promotion party, and Opening and Closing Night celebrations.
On schedule throughout the festival are the cabaret concerts In Therapy With Celine with book by Evan Storey featuring the music of Celine Dion performed by Christina Cataldo and Sing, But Don't Tell: An Evening of Carner and Gregor with words by Sam Carner and music by Derek Gregor (Unlock'd, 2007). Direct from its Off-Broadway run, ROOMS A Rock Romance (NYMF, 2006) will celebrate its forthcoming Time-Life cast album with live performances. All events are located at Sweet Caroline's, 322 W. 45th Street (between 8th and 9th Ave) unless otherwise noted.
Sponsored by TheaterMania and DFD-TV, in association with The Network and New World Stages, NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation searches for musical theatre's next undiscovered star. The contest, now in its fourth year, exposes the bravest of performers to an audience of fans and musical theatre legends alike. As singers compete to win their very own solo concert, the public makes the vote that will decide their fate. Past celebrity commentators have included Marc Shaiman, Stephen Schwartz, Anthony Rapp, Tom Kitt and Celia Keenan-Bolger. It's a thrilling event not to be missed. NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation will have three rounds starting Sunday, September 13 and continuing September 20 and October 4 at New World Stages.
Both opening and closing night celebrations are FREE for NYMF members and patrons.
