NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present TWELFTH NIGHT, created by Filter Theatre in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

TWELFTH NIGHT begins performances at NYU Skirball (566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square, New York, NY, 10012) on February 16, 2016 for a strictly limited run through February 20, 2016. Part of NYU Skirball's Visions + Voices Global Performance Series, now in its fourth year, TWELFTH NIGHT launches Visions + Voices: United Kingdom. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.nyuskirball.org or by phone at 888-611-8183.

A radically-cut, fast-paced version of Shakespeare's much-loved comedy where classical verse meets riotous gig, Filter Theatre's explosive and irreverent new take on this story of romance, satire, and mistaken identity combines dynamic narrative drive with a torrent of sound and music. Performed by actors in everyday clothes, the experience is more akin to a rock concert than classical theater, creating an exhilarating live chemistry between actor and audience.

TWELFTH NIGHT features original direction by Sean Holmes (Artistic Director of London's Lyric Hammersmith), redirection by Oliver Dimsdale and Ferdy Roberts (Artistic Directors of Filter Theatre), and will star Ronke Adekoluejo (Sheffield Theatre's Pride and Prejudice) as Olivia, Sandy Foster ("Mr. Turner") as Feste/Maria, Harry Jardine (West End's Les Miserables) as Orsino/Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Amy Marchant (West End's Shakespeare in Love) as Viola/Sebastian, Fergus O'Donnell ("Downton Abbey") as Malvolio, and Dan Poole ("Moonwalkers" with Ron Perlman and Rupert Grint) as Sir Toby Belch. TWELFTH NIGHT features music and sound by Tom Haines and Ross Hughes.

Tickets for TWELFTH NIGHT, ranging in price from $25 to $65, are on sale now and may be purchased online at www.nyuskirball.org, by phone at 888-611-8183, or in person at the NYU Skirball Center Box Office: Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-6:00 P.M. The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is located at 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square, New York, New York 10012.

TWELFTH NIGHT will host post-show discussions on February 17 and 19, including a Q&A with the artists. On February 18, Filter Theatre producer and playwright Simon Reade will give a pre-show lobby talk at 6:30pm.

Formed in 2003, Filter Theatre is the creation of actors Oliver Dimsdale, Ferdy Roberts and musician Tim Phillips who met while students of London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Based in London, Filter specializes in incorporating unique soundscapes into their repertoire, which includes both original plays and new interpretations of classic plays.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is the premier venue for the presentation of cultural and performing arts events for New York University and lower Manhattan. The programs of NYU Skirball reflect NYU's mission as an international center of scholarship, defined by excellence and innovation and shaped by an intellectually rich and diverse environment. A vital aspect of the Center's mission is to build young adult audiences for the future of live performance.
