Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director, and the Director of this production, will direct you in the right direction, so that you won't miss a thing. When you meet in front of Castle Clinton, you will be led into the Castle where the play begins. Battery Park's gardens set the stage for this production and then the fun really begins.
As you watch the show, the next scene that is about to happen, starts about 50 feet away and then you are off! The whole audience follows the actors to where the scene is taking place approximately, every 15 - 20 minutes. So, no snoozing during this Shakespeare production!
The actors use the castle, gardens, trees, benches and even the audience as scenery.
There are no lines to wait on to get in, no reservations to make and no tickets to buy! Just show up and have lots of fun! It's great for the whole family. Wear comfortable shoes or sneakers and you can come by foot, bike, on rollerblades or scooters. You can even bring your dog, but please tell them no barking during the show! The show is also wheelchair accessible and perfect for bringing the little ones in their strollers.
As the sun goes down, Artistic Director, Stephen Burdman and his crew will light the show with flashlights and with the help of fireflies.
