No one in the news is safe! NEWSical the Musical, the 2010 Drama Desk-nominated comedy revue, is back lampooning current events, headlines, newsmakers, celebrities and politicians. With songs and material being updated on a regular basis, composer-lyricist Rick Crom's topical musical comedy is an ever-evolving mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof!

This new version of NEWSical will feature Crom's signature take on all the most-talked about events of the day, including the Tea Party, immigration in Arizona, Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Crazy Jet Blue Flight Attendant, bed bugs, Lindsay Lohan, Oprah's Final Season and more!

Drama Desk nominee and Sirius Radio host Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway, Talk Radio) will lead an ensemble that includes Christina Bianco (Drama Desk nominee, Forbidden Broadway), Michael West (Forbidden Broadway, When Pigs Fly), John Walton West (Drowsy Chaperone national tour, The Producers national tour), Amy Griffin (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and Tommy Walker (Evil Dead).

The production will be directed by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy). Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), David Kally (costume designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager). The show is being produced by Tom D'Angora (Broadway Diva Christmas, Naked Boys Singing!, Divas I've Done) and Elyse Pasquale (Betty Rules).

Christine Pedi is most known to New York audiences for her gift of impressions with her long association with Forbidden Broadway. She has appeared on Broadway with Martin Short in Little Me and most recently in Talk Radio. She can be heard hosting "On Broadway" and "Dueling Divas" with Seth Rudetsky on Sirius Satellite Radio. This summer she became an Internet sensation with her spoof of Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video performed as Liza Minnelli and Carol Channing.

Rick Crom has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose and The Goodbye Girl and he has received two Drama Desk nominations for his work on NEWSical.

NEWSical the Musical is set to begin previews on Monday, December 13th with a January 9th opening night at The Kirk at Theatre Row. Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street. Tickets are $70 and can be purchased through Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 279-4200 or (800) 432-7250. For performance schedule and more information visit www.NewsicalTheMusical.net.
