Musicals Tonight!'s 18th Season Might Not Be Its Last

One month ago, Musicals Tonight announced its 18th and final season. But renewing subscribers expressed such dismay that Artistic Director Mel Miller has convinced his Board of Directors to reconsider their decision.
The upcoming season will feature revivals of George and Ira Gershwin's Oh, Kay!; Cole Porter's Out of This World; Rodgers and Hart's Babes in Arms; Jerome Kern's Oh, Boy!; and Leonard Bernstein's Wonderful Town.
Oh, Kay! (1926) has music by George Gershwin, lyrics by Ira Gershwin, and a book by Guy Bolton and P. G. Wodehouse. The plot revolves Lady Kay, and an English bootlegger. Songs: Clap Yo' Hands, Someone to Watch Over Me, Do, Do, Do, Fidgety Feet
Out of This World (1950) has music & lyrics by Cole Porter. The Roman gods are in search of some entertainment of the human kind.Songs: Use Your Imagination, I Am Loved, Cherry Pies Ought to Be You, What Do You Think About Men?
Babes in Arms (1937) has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Lorenz Hart and a book by Rodgers and Hart as well. It concerns a group of small-town teenagers who put on a show. Songs: Where or When; My Funny Valentine; The Lady Is a Tramp; Johnny One Note, I Wish I Were in Love Again and Imagine
Oh, Boy! (1917) has music by Jerome Kern and a book and lyrics by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse. Running for 463 performances made it the third-longest running musical of its day. George comes home after eloping with Lou Ellen. When she leaves to get her family's approval, he lets Jackie climb in his window to avoid arrest. Confusion abounds.
Wonderful Town (1953) has a book by Joseph A. Fields and Jerome Chodorov, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Leonard Bernstein. The basis for the work is a collection of short stories published in The New Yorker. Songs: A Little Bit in Love,Ohio, Christopher Street, Wrong Note Rag, One Hundred Easy Ways.
