The cast has been announced for the Musicals Tonight! upcoming production of Noel Coward's 'Sail Away' slated for a run from February 23 to March 7 at McGinn/Cazale Theatre.
Noel Coward's Sail Away takes place on a cruise where social director, Mimi Paragon (Beth Glover), tries to occupy her charges with shuffleboard and bingo on the ship and guided tours ashore. When she is not busy shepherding her flock, she manages to fall in love with a young passenger, John Van Mier (Scott Guthrie), to the dismay of his over-protective, snobbish mother (Beth McVey). Calling Mrs. Van Mier to task is the cruise's resident author, Elinor (Sarah Knapp) who is also trying to squash the budding romance between her niece/secretary, Nancy (Amber Ward) and an eager-beaver from Milwaukee, Barnaby (Erik Keiser). The ever-demanding other passengers include a snobbish British "Royal" Sir Gerard (William Ryall), first-time travelers - Mr. & Mrs. Sweeney (Richard G. Rodgers and Barbara Anne Winn), and the long-suffering mother of the brat of all brats, Mrs. Lush (Patti Perkins). Helping Mimi occupy the passengers are the cynical stewards (Graham Bailey, Daniel Drewes, Omer Shaish, and Jordan Wolfe). Songs include: Don't Turn Away from Love; Later Than Spring; Sail Away Why Do the Wrong People Travel?; Useless Useful Phrases
