Atlantic Theater Company announces casting for the New York premiere production of Nomad Motel, written by Carla Ching (Fast Company, Atlantic/Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation commissionee) and directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (The Mysteries).

Nomad Motel will feature Molly Griggs (Hello, Dolly!), Christopher Larkin (Fast Company), Samantha Mathis ("Billions") and Andrew Pang (after the quake). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Nomad Motel begins previews Wednesday, May 22nd and will open Monday, June 3rd for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

In the not-so-sunny side of California, Alix bounces between motel rooms, taking care of her brothers for her mostly MIA mother. Her classmate Mason is a budding songwriter trying to keep off the radar of his absent father in Hong Kong. Together, they must learn to scrape by without giving up their dreams. This New York Premiere is a surprising tale of kids raising themselves and making something out of nothing in the land of plenty.

Nomad Hotel will feature scenic design by Yu-Hsuan Chen, costume design by Loren Shaw, lighting design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, sound design and original compositions by Emily Gardner Xu Hall, fight direction by Ryan-James Hatanaka, dialect coaching by Joy Lanceta Coronel, and casting by TBD Casting: Stephanie Yankwitt, CSA; Margaret Dunn.

Nomad Motel was presented as part of Atlantic's 2017 Asian American MixFest, a festival of new plays exploring and celebrating the wealth of diverse stories in the American theater, and bringing these artists into the Atlantic family.

Nomad Motel was first produced as a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere by City Theatre Company (Pennsylvania), Horizon Theatre Company (Georgia), and Unicorn Theatre (Missouri). For more information please visit nnpn.org.

Nomad Motel was developed during a residency at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference in 2015. Preston Whiteway, Executive Director; Wendy C. Goldberg, Artistic Director.

Tickets for Nomad Motel are now on sale. Regular tickets begin at $55. Order online at atlantictheater.org, by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111, or in person at the Linda Gross Theater box office (336 West 20th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).
