Michael Kadin Craig will take over the role of Matthew in Altar Boyz, succeeding Chad Doreck. The acclaimed musical comedy at New World Stages, recently celebrate its third anniversary. Altar Boyz opened to acclaim on March 1, 2005 and received unanimous raves, going on to garner seven Drama Desk nominations and winning the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, Off-Broadway.

Michael says is very excited to be making his Off-Broadway debut in Altar Boyz, after playing Matthew at St. Louis Rep and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. His NYC credits include Only Children (Alistair Richards) at Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Bound for Broadway opposite Jerry Dixon and Donna Vivino and Things To Ruin: The Songs Of Joe Iconis at Joe's Pub. Regional credits include Edges (Man 1) at Music Theatre of Connecticut, High School Musical (Jack Scott) at North Shore Music Theatre, The Sixties Project at Goodspeed (Colonel Steele) directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., Jonathan in Tick…Tick…Boom! and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar.  In 2002, Michael was seen on "American Idol 2" as a Hollywood Finalist.  For more visit www.michaelkadincraig.com

Altar Boyz is directed by Stafford Arima and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. Altar Boyz has music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila, based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport. 

Performances are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm & 7pm.  New World Stages is located at 340 West 50th Street, just west of Eighth Avenue.
