My Name is Asher Lev, the long-running play adapted from the acclaimed novel by Chaim Potok at The Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street) has announced its final weeks of performances with the original cast.
The show has extended its run three times and is currently on sale through September 1, 2013, only. As of September 1st, My Name is Asher Lev will have played 24 previews and 317 performances. Performances began November 8th, 2012.

Directed by Gordon Edelstein, the production at The Westside Theatre features Ari Brand (Broadway Bound, directed by David Cromer), who plays Asher Lev in this breakout performance. My Name is Asher Lev also stars Mark Nelson (nine Broadway productions including After The Fall, The Invention of Love, A Few Good Men; Obie Award winner for Picasso at the Lapin Agile) and Jenny Bacon (Heartless, Omnium Gatherum).
Set in post-war Brooklyn, My Name is Asher Lev tells the coming-of-age story of a boy prodigy who must be an artist at any cost -- against the will of family, community and tradition. It is the powerful telling of a young artist with a universal theme to follow our passion - against everything.
