The Philipstown Depot Theatre will host Phil Geoffrey Bond's My Friend, the Cat on Saturday, October 1 at 8pm. My Friend, the Cat, a hit at off-Broadway's Laurie Beechman Theatre in 2007, is being revived for this special one-night-only performance on the banks of the Hudson River. Featuring music by some of the greatest songwriters of the past century, the evening is intermingled with spoken text by Bond about his ten year relationship with one particularly mischievous feline.

My Friend, the Cat traces the ten-year relationship between its author and a very adventuresome tabby cat named Chesterson, following the pair through their first apartment, a crappy East Village monstrosity with sloping floors and cockroaches, where, during hot summers, kitty was placed in the refrigerator to keep cool, to wintertime road trips where we learn that cats can, indeed, drive a station wagon, straight through to the furry one's cold-blooded attacks upon sleeping, bare feet. My Friend, the Cat debuted off-Broadway in February 2007 where it enjoyed a successful year-long run.

Tickets, $25, are available by visiting philipstowndepottheatre.org or by calling 1.800.838.3006. The Philipstown Depot Theatre is located at 10 Garrison Landing in Garrison, NY, four miles North of the Bear Mountain Bridge, and adjacent to the Garrison Metro North train station, where parking is available at no cost. Please visit philipstowndepottheatre.org or call 845 424 3900. The Philipstown Depot Theatre is sponsored by Philipstown Recreation and Philipstown Performing Arts.

For this special one-night-only event, some of Broadway and cabaret's brightest voices will grace the Depot's stage, including: Jenn Lee Andrews (Broadway's Les Miserables, Nine, Grand Hotel), Harper Levy (Haldane's Sweeney Todd), Karen Mack (Wicked), Rob Maitner (Urinetown), Sally Mayes (Broadway's She Loves Me, Steel Magnolias, Welcome to the Club) & Lisa Sabin (The Depot's Simply Streisand & Sondheim Unplugged). Music Direction is by John Fischer, accompanied by Jacob Yateson cello.

Featuring the music of John Bucchino, Charlie Chaplin, David Foster, Walter Donaldson and Gus Kahn, Billy Joel, Carole King, Laura Nyro, Carole Bayer Sager and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
