‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding,' in it's 2nd year Off-Broadway, today announces that it will be closing it's doors at St. Luke's Theatre following the performance on Saturday, August 20th, 2011.

The closing announcement is bittersweet to cast, producers, crew and fans, but having been able to fight for Marriage Equality on the world's biggest stage and to see it come to fruition in New York State during the show's run is a victory, and a remarkable experience for all involved.

The future of this particular company of ‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding' is currently unknown, but producers are currently in talks developing other options.

‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding' is available for licensing through Samuel French and has already played in El Paso, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska and is currently running at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland and is scheduled to open in London, England in Fall 2011.

Wilkinson, Chase Coleman, Erik Ransom, Adam Shorsten, Brett Douglas, Liz Gerecitano, Leah Gerstel, Randi Kaplan, Chad Kessler, Kim Sozzi, Marissa Rosen, Meagan Robar, Joe Scanio, Joey Murray, Mike Russo and Tommaso Antico. Teresa A. Cicala directs. Sonia Blangiardo and Dina Manzo are Executive Producers.

My Big Gay Italian Wedding focuses on two gay men as they plan their wedding and the people around them, including an overbearing Italian mother, a jealous ex-boyfriend, the wedding planner from Hell, and an assortment of family and friends.
