Manhattan Theatre Club is a preeminent, nonprofit producer of new work for the stage. Stargate Theatre is MTC Education's "theatre company within a theatre company." Stargate hires young men who have been involved with the justice system to create and perform an original play. Company members are guided by Stargate's Founding Artistic Director, Emmy Award-winner and playwright Judy Tate, and production director Andrew Goldberg.
MTC Education's Giving Voice initiative reaches hundreds of marginalized young people annually through the Stargate Theatre and Write on the Edge programs. Support for Giving Voice is provided by Sharon Sullivan and Jeffrey B. Kindler, The Tow Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts, Gina Leonetti, The Monteforte Foundation, Bendit Family Foundation, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Noah and Susanna Schankler, The Bulova Stetson Fund, Theatre Forward, The Broadway League, Diane and Bill Pulleyblank, Naomi Sinnreich, and Stephen C.
