A new adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol will begin performances on Wednesday, December 16th at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). This limited holiday engagement runs through Wednesday, December 23, 2015.
Seven performers bring 57 classic characters to life (or death) in this imaginative production. With clever action and creative staging, this ghostly retelling delivers a fresh look at this beloved traditional tale. What "Starcatcher" did for Peter, MOD does for Scrooge.
Dickens' tale follows Scrooge through a night fraught with visitations from haunting holiday spirits. His whole life flashing before his eyes, the miserly Ebenezer is lead down a cold, bitter path to redemption.
MOD Theatre Company is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the classics from page to stage with artistic vision and prowess. A Christmas Carol leads off MOD's flagship season, which will be followed by adaptations of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
