Performances begin tonight for the second production of Fellowship for Performing Arts' (FPA) 2016-17 New York season, MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL, presented at The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street).

MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL marks the first full production of FPA's first wholly original play, written by Chris Cragin-Day and FPA Artistic Director Max McLean and directed by Michael Parva. MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL officially opens on December 14, 2016 and performances continue through January 29, 2017. Tickets for FPA's New York productions are now on sale at www.FPATheatre.com.

The cast of MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL features Mark Boyett (A Play on Words), Kersti Bryan (Good Afternoon), Jamil A.C. Mangan (Mother Courage and Her Children), Fletcher McTaggart (Leap of Faith), John Michalski (The Winter's Tale) and Paul Schoeffler (Rock of Ages).

In MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL, which appeared in FPA's season last winter as a workshop production, Luther's beloved wife Katie defends him and The Devil prosecutes as witnesses including Adolf Hitler, Sigmund Freud, Rabbi Josel, St. Paul, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Pope Francis take the stand. Even as 2017 marks 500 years since Luther ignited the Protestant Revolt against Rome, he continues to spark intense debate. You be the judge in this witty, provocative exploration of one of history's most explosive personalities and the religious and political controversies he unleashed.

MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL features set design by Kelly James Tighe, lighting design by Geoffrey D. Fishburn, costume design by Nicole Wee, original music and sound design by Quentin Chiappetta. The production manager is Drew Francis and the stage manager is Elizabeth Ann Goodman.
