I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the longest-running Off-Broadway musical on the boards, will celebrate its 11th anniversary on Wednesday, August 1 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).  Not since The Fantasticks has any other musical in Off-Broadway history ever reached the 11-year mark.

The show opened at the Westside Theatre on August 1, 1996.  "Off-Broadway's phenomenal longest-running musical celebrates the modern-day suburban mating game.  Audiences fill the theatre with laughter as the cast explores the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws," state press notes. The cast features Anne Bobby, Bryan McElroy, Jim Stanek, and Amy White, portraying over 60 roles in a collection of delightful scenes and songs.

The musical revue has played more than 4500 performances. It is also the longest-running show ever in Denver, Dallas, South Florida, and Rochester.  The show has received eight international Best Musical awards.

Additional productions have been mounted in more than 400 cities worldwide including Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, London, Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Budapest, Sydney, Prague, Seoul, Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing.  The hit musical has been translated into 11 different languages.

The Chinese company recently performed in repertory with the American cast at New York's Westside Theatre.  When the Chinese version opened on May 9, 2007 for a highly successful limited four-week engagement, it marked the first time in U.S. history that a foreign language production of an American musical had ever been presented in this country.  The Chinese cast performed the show entirely in Mandarin with English supertitles projected above the stage, and they returned to Beijing last month to launch an extended multi-city tour throughout China.

The show is written by playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro and composer Jimmy Roberts.  Directed by Joel BishoffI Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is presented by James Hammerstein Productions, Bernie Kukoff and Jonathan Pollard.

The playing schedule is Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 & 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 & 7 p.m.
