New York's most romantic musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is making plans to celebrate Valentine's Day. Although the show normally doesn't play on Thursdays, there will be a special Valentine's Day performance added on Thursday, February 14 at 8PM. In honor of Cupid's special holiday, free champagne will be served to the entire audience at the love-happy hit musical, which is now playing in its 12th smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).
"Off-Broadway's phenomenal longest-running musical on the boards celebrates the modern-day suburban mating game. Audiences fill the theatre with laughter as the cast explores the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws," explain press notes.
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is also the most proposal-friendly show in town. Fifty-eight times, a young man has taken the stage to make a surprise proposal to his sweetheart. In all cases, the brides-to-be happily accepted as the audience roared with approval.
Currently featured in the cast are Anne Bobby, Christy Faber, Jonathan Rayson, and Frank Vlastnik. The show is written by playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro and composer Jimmy Roberts. Directed by Joel Bishoff, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is presented by James Hammerstein Productions, Bernie Kukoff and Jonathan Pollard.
